Amy:

1 John 4:19 “We have the power of loving, because he first had love for us.” That’s right! We love because He loved us first. This makes me think of a song-我们爱让世界不一.The lyric is meaningful. Think of it.

Ivy Khor:

Acts 9. Overall I see God gives me hope. I’m still waiting the time to come, the time when my parents and my grandma accept Christ. If God really chose them, may God uses me like how He uses Saul. I believe that God is now using me to transform and break the curse of this family! I won’t give up!

Leonard:

Jesus instructed His disciples, “when you go into a town, whoever will not receive and welcome your message, when you leave that place, shake the dust off your feet”. It’s a symbolic way of saying, “you’re not going to steal my joy. You may reject me or speak badly about me, but I’m not going to sink down and not going to fight with you. I’m going to let God be my vindicator.”

Amy:

1 John 3:18 “My little children, do not let our love be in word and in tongue, but let it be in act and in good faith.” Don’t let our love be in literal form only, but in action form. Sometimes, people don’t feel the love when we only say it but don’t act it out. Sometimes, we say we love, but actually, we don’t mean that. So, start from now, act out your love, so that others can really experience the love from you, and hopefully more souls are being touched and life being changed via our love action!

Ivy Khor:

Acts 8:18-24 talks about Simon who wants to buy the gift of God from Peter by money. It reminds me the sermon from Pastor Lim. When I read it, I found that we have to establish a good attitude in Christ, so that people may see our difference and bring them before God.

Leonard:

In bible, Paul said, “I’ve learned how to be content no matter what state I’m in.” Bro and sis, here is a story I want to share. There is a news reporter interview one of the victims from hurricane happened in New Orleans. The reporter asked her sarcastically, “ok, tell us your story. What’s wrong?” “Nothing’s wrong”, she said, “I’m not here to complain. I’m here to thank God that I’m still alive, to thank God that my children are okay.” The reporter is curious, “do you have any problems?” The woman answered, “I don’t even have home, it was swept away in the flood.” She smiled and held up the bible, “I have my hope, joy, and peace”. That’s called trust and faith in the Lord!

Amy:

1 John 2:2-3 “He is the offering for our sins; and not for ours only, but for the entire world. And by this we may be certain that we have knowledge of him, if we keep his laws.” God offers Himself as the offering to wash away our sins, so that we can be new born in Christ. Everyone knows this, but the scripture says if we know but we don’t live out a godly life, and don’t keep his laws, there is nothing true in us. But in every man who keeps his word, the love of God is made complete. By this we may be certain that we are in him!

Ivy Khor:

Acts 7:57 at this time they covered their ears and yelling at the top of their voices. My sis, Iris, used to be like that when she doesn’t want to hear what I said. It’s very hard to share gospel with my family members, so stubborn! Thanks God that I can be able to talk with my little sis, Ivory. Although it’s very hard until I become mad, but thanks God for being with us and uses my mouth to speak to her, let her know what God wants to tell her through Holy Bible and teach her.

Jennifer:

Proverb 17:17 “A friend loves at all times”. The bible also talks about friendship. But how do I know who my friends are? One way is a test of loyalty. A genuine friend loves us through the best and worst of times. They might wound us because they tell us the truth. I pray that we all will find a genuine friend.

Leonard:

Apostle Paul said “I have learned how to be content no matter what state I’m in”. Think about that, he said, “I have learned to be content”. In other words, “this didn’t happen automatically. I had to train my mind to stay at peace. I had to train my mind to look on the bright side. I had to train my mind focus on the good”. Happiness is not going to fall on us. It’s a choice we have to make. Put your smile every time you get out of bed.

Amy:

1 John 1:5 “God is light and in him there is nothing dark.” This chapter mainly talks about the sentence. We claim that God is the light and so we should, also, be in the light. That means, we should not get ourselves in any kinds of evil things, which will lead us to darkness. If we are walking in the light, as he is in the light, we are all united with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son makes us clean from all sin.

Amy:

2 Peter 3:13-14 “But having faith in his word, we are looking for a new heaven and a new earth, which will be the resting-place of righteousness. For this reason, my loved ones, as you are looking for these things, take great care that when he comes you may be in peace before him, free from sin and every evil thing.” When the judgement day comes, all the evils will be destroyed, and righteousness will stand. So, take care of ourselves that we are always free from evil and sin as the judgement day is near!

Ivy Khor:

Acts 6:11-14 reminds me on the power of words that pastor had told us before. In order to damage a huge building just need a small drop of burning oil with small fire is more than enough. Always think before say, the effect of it and is it suitable for the environment or not.

Ivy:

God says ‘He reigns forever’. I’m grateful when I wake up this morning, for every beautiful thing that He has drawn and done for us. He always keeps us under His wings. Thanks God.

Leonard:

Romans 8:28 “that all things work together for good when you love the Lord”. Yesterday, my white Camry crashed and hospitalized. Today, I drove my black Perdana. All the four tyres are going to flat, need to change all in a time. In this situation, you have all reasons to complain, but I know He is in control for everything, He might test my patience. As I said, bible mentioned that we can “reprogram” our own “computer” and trust God for His better plan. Amen?
