Amy:

1 Peter 1:17 “…no favourites when He judges. He’ll judge or reward you according to what you do”. God is just! He won’t bias towards anyone. He’ll reward you for your good deeds, and punish you for your bad deeds. So, decide ourselves. Do we want reward or punishment?

Jennifer:

Mathew 9:16-17 Jesus says ‘you can’t put new wine into old wineskins’. New wine and new anointing is going to pour down on us, but our old selves often hold us back from receiving more from God. Get rid of the old one and strive for a new you.

Leonard:

So interestingly, Apostle Paul said in Romans, chapter 7 “the things I want to do I don’t. And the things I don’t want to do, I end up doing”. Paul was struggling to do the right thing. In verse 19, he gives us insight into why he was having that struggle. He said “for I failed to practise the thing I desire to do”. You know? He was basically saying, I haven’t developed good habits in these areas. I’m not practising what I know I should be doing. Truth is we are all practising something, and the way to develop good habits is by practising the right things. Confusing?

Ivy Khor:

Acts 3:26 “when God rose up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways”. From that we know the purpose why God wants to send His son, Jesus Christ to this world. We have to repent in his name. by His name ONLY we can be able to go back to our Father.

Amy:

James 5 talks about patience. All of us need patience to endure whatever difficulties in life. Don’t grumble about each other. Besides, God wants us to be courageous. In this chapter also, God asks us to pray constantly as prayer is powerful. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.

Ivy:

Mark 8:18 You have eyes, can’t you see? Do you see yourself as a victor, rising higher in life? Lord sees us the best in Him. See the people who we loved with hope and faith, and God says it is done.

Leonard:

Do your find your worried a lot of things and get stress up easily? The scripture tells us to “dwell on things that are pure, things that are wholesome, things that are of a good report”. If you’ll replace those thoughts of worry with thought of hope, faith and victory, then you will retrain your mind. The KEY to success is to find something with which you can replace the negative habit.

Jennifer:

Nahum 3 “I’m against you” declares the Lord. The people of Nineveh sinned against God so bad until God is unable to forgive them. God is gracious, but he cannot be mocked. If we’ve sinned in the past, God deeply wants to forgive us if we turn to him. Only those who persist Him will fail to be forgiven. Let’s pray for His forgiveness.

Amy:

James 4:2-3 Sometimes we don’t get what we want is because we don’t even ask from God. But sometimes we don’t get because our motive is wrong. Often we want something just to fulfil our pleasure, not what we really need. God won’t grant us on that. So, don’t blame God but reflect us. Wait for God’s timing and follow His will.

Leonard:

Scripture says “there is no temptation that will come to you that you can’t overcome. God will always make a way of escape”. So bro and sis, no matter how tired you are or how much assignments that you are rushing now, never let the temptations to stop you to get closer with God, start to do your devotion now if you have missed it this morning. Be an example to your sheep or other believers. Be a leader, rather than follower; be head rather than tail.

Leonard:

“Habits are like gravity, they will always pull you towards them”. If you develop good habits, they’ll make your life easier, more successful and more productive. You’ll be happy, naturally and you will experience God’s abundant life. But if you establish bad habits, they’ll inevitably drag you down. You’ll gravitate towards them!

Amy:

James 3 talks about controlling tongue. Literally, it means controlling our words. Words can kill if they are not spoken properly. Often, we don’t think before we talk, while our words may sometime hurt. We need wisdom to talk properly and behold our tongue. True wisdom comes from God. The wisdom from heaven is pure. Seek for Him!

Ivy:

Hebrews 11:17,27. When God tested Abraham, offered Isaac as a sacrifice, he received the promises. Every one of us has our own promised land, but do we receive it by faith? By faith Moses left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger, because he saw Him who is invisible. Do we look ahead for what God has for us and always trust in the invisible but Almighty one?

Leonard:

A story to share tonight. “Son, on the inside of every one a battle is raging between two wolves. One is evil. It’s angry, jealous, unforgiving, proud and lazy. The other wolf is good and filled with love, kindness, humility and self control. These two wolves are constantly fighting”, said the grandfather. The little boy asked, “Grandfather, which wolf is going to win?” He smiled and said, “whichever one you feed” You have the answer?

Jennifer:

Eccles 2. This book is written by Solomon. He tried to find heaven on earth by his wealth and possession. But in the end he felt dissatisfied because he didn’t want to leave earth. In Colossians 3 Paul advised to “set your mind on things above, not on things on earth”. So don’t try to find heaven on earth, because you won’t!

Amy:

James 2 talks about the topic of prejudice. It teaches us not to judge and treat others with certain bias. For example, when you treat rich people far more than poor ones, it can be discrimination which shows we are guided by wrong motives. V8 “love your neighbour as yourself”. No prejudice! Everyone’s the same in God!!
